Well, I guess to start us off... This piece was written last night. Only about two pages. I wrote it to help me break through writers' block, so I'm not sure how good it is, and it's subject to a title change...

They had already introduced themselves, but I had been picking up the newspaper from the rack and had missed it. The two women sit at a table in Panera Bread. One looks ten years older, around thirty, wears the latest fashion of brown-print capris with a baby-doll blue shirt. Her flip-flops have heels, and her brown hair is down in an attempt to make herself look younger. She apparently arrived late; the other girl had been waiting for almost half an hour, occasionally looking at my table as if she thinks I might be a sexual predator. The other, looking little older than twenty, has taken pains to make herself look older. She wears a denim skirt, blouse, and ballet flats; her hair is in a severe bun that makes her look like a twelve-year-old trying to look older. The older woman has a large cup of coffee and a large chocolate muffin. The younger one has a bagel with lite cream cheese and a cup of water.
